Meet Dr. Collin Caywood
Dr. Collin Caywood was born and raised in Jefferson City, Missouri. He attended Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri, where he played collegiate basketball while earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. The discipline, leadership, and work ethic he developed through athletics continue to influence the way he cares for his patients today.
Driven by a passion for healthcare and meaningful patient relationships, Dr. Caywood went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Dentistry in 2024. That same year, he proudly purchased the practice, continuing its commitment to exceptional dentistry and personalized care.
Dr. Caywood is passionate about creating an elevated dental experience where patients feel comfortable, valued, and confident in their smiles. With a special interest in cosmetic and family dentistry, he focuses on combining advanced techniques with a thoughtful, individualized approach to treatment. His goal is to help every patient achieve long-term oral health while delivering natural, confident results in a welcoming environment.

Dedicated to clinical excellence and continuing education, Dr. Caywood regularly attends advanced training courses and seminars to stay at the forefront of modern dentistry and emerging technology. He is affiliated with the American Dental Association, Missouri Dental Association, Greater Kansas City Dental Society, and Seattle Study Club. He also routinely speaks at student events hosted by the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Dentistry.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Caywood enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, staying active, and being involved in the local community.
History: A Legacy of Care
Caywood Dentistry proudly carries forward a legacy that began more than 50 years ago under the leadership of Dr. Kelly B. Deines. Built on a foundation of exceptional dental care, honesty, compassion, and lasting patient relationships, the practice has been a trusted part of the Kansas City community for decades. Through personalized treatment and a commitment to clinical excellence, Dr. Deines established a standard of care that continues to guide our office today.
Dr. Collin Caywood’s relationship with the practice began in 2018, when he started spending time in the office shadowing and learning directly from Dr. Deines. What began as mentorship quickly developed into a close professional partnership built on shared values, communication, and patient-centered care. After years of working alongside Dr. Deines and completing his education at UMKC School of Dentistry, Dr. Caywood purchased the practice upon graduating in 2024. Today, Dr. Deines continues to serve as a mentor and consultant to the office, helping carry forward the legacy and standard of care that patients have trusted for decades.
Dr. Caywood is deeply committed to continuing the quality, relationships, and personalized attention that have defined this practice for the last 50 years, while also leading the office into its next chapter of growth. Our team is incredibly grateful for the amazing patients and families who have supported this practice over the years, and we look forward to continuing to serve the Kansas City community for generations to come.
